2008 Calendar of Events - Highlights.
(Subject to Updates and Changes)- April – June 2008 - Art In Public Places Knoxville, 25 – 40 large scale sculptures to be installed in downtown for 90 + days
- April 2 – 16, 2008 - Student Art Show at the Phoenix Building downtown and Farragut Towne Hall.
- April 4 – 18, 2008 - Fine Arts Show, Over 200 works by area artists at the Emporium and Three Flights Up Gallery on Gay Street
- April 4 – 23, 2008 - Open Gardens, continues the inclusion of the natural beauty of the region in public and private gardens, garden by-ways and camera stops
- April 8, 2008 - Jazz Concert at the Bijou Theater, presented in conjunction with the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra (2008 is a Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald featuring vocalist Deborah Brown).
- April 9, 2008 - Trails Opening - The Dogwood Trails — where it all started. Over seventy miles of beautiful trails through seven of Knoxville’s most beautiful and architecturally significant neighborhoods. The anchor and inspiration of all things Dogwood. 2008 Featured Trail is Sequoyah Hills.
- April 11 – 13, 2008 - Festival on Market Square, Art in the Park technique demonstrations in several mediums, Gallery Walk, Blue Grass Blowout with local and regional performers, arts projects for kids, artists marketplace, music and dance, and special projects (vary year-to-year)
- April 15, 2008 - Diva Luncheon, “We’ve Got a Shoe Attitude!” Featuring food, entertainment and a gathering of the powers that be, as wells a small juried show of art by area women artists and women produced products.
- April 23, 2008 - A Very Special Arts Festival at West HS 27th year of creating an arts festival experience for over 400 Knox Co. school children with diverse needs.
- April 25, 2008 - Parade “Let the Bloomtimes Roll’ — the parade features the Knox County High School Marching Bands and Music Programs along with community entries designed and executed to theme
- October 22 – November 16, 2008 - Knox Co. Art Teachers “Art Source” the 10th year for the exhibit at the Phoenix Building, the Annual Exhibition.
- February 20 - 22, 2009 - House and Garden Show.
- 50th Anniversary 2010! Big milestone, big plans! Stay Tuned…..
Oak Ridge Events
- April 4 – 23 - Fourth year of Dogwood Arts Trail in West Oak Ridge. Open Gardens in Jackson Square.
- April 19 - The Oak Ridge Dogwood 5K. The course will take runners/walkers through Briarcliff, one of our most attractive neighborhoods.
