Dogwood image file uploads and application troubleshooting.

We have found that most application submission problems are image-size related. If you are having problems with your application not going through, please follow these instructions for uploading images to the Dogwood Arts site. File sizes must be kept small to keep the Dogwood Arts website running efficiently. Larger file upload sizes can slow our web server and, in turn, cause other problems. Below are step by step instructions for saving files for uploading:

1. Please be sure your image files are named correctly. Incorrectly named files can, and will, be misplaced and will render your application void. File names should first include the last name of the applicant followed by a dash (-) or underscore (_) and the title or description of the image.

Examples of acceptable file names:
Smith-flower.jpg, Smith-untitled.jpg, Jones_Sculpture1.jpg

Examples of unacceptable file names:
Untitled.jpg, Smith.jpg, 234998230.jpg

2. Make sure files are the correct file type. Dogwood Arts only accepts the following file formats:  jpg, jpeg, gif, png, and pdf. All other files types will not be accepted and will not allow you application to go through.

3. File sizes should be less than 2MB in size and/or a maximum of 1,500 pixels width or height (which ever is longest). If you are having trouble with your application not going through, we recommend using this site for saving files to a smaller format: http://www.picresize.com.

4. Once you have successfully resized your images and saved them with the correct name, try submitting the application again.

5. If you are still having issues with submitting your application, please contact us at applications@dogwoodarts.com and we will help as soon as possible. When contacting us, please provide us with the following.

a. Description of error or problem with your submission process
b. Date and time when the error occurred
c. Contact info
d. Submission info and any images that are to be included in your application

Thanks again for your interest in Dogwood Arts!
