OUR MISSION AT WORK
 In 2006, the Board of Directors held a Strategic Planning Workshop to develop a stronger mission and vision for the Festival. It was determined that to ensure its future success it would be imperative to redefine and design programs and events that fit within the mission and vision while maintaining the historic value of the Festival that has been so vital to this community.
The THREE-PART MISSION of the Dogwood Arts Festival (DAF)
- To help fund arts education in our schools.
- New in 2008, Student Art Exhibition at Farragut Towne Hall
- The DAF House & Garden Show includes two youth art programs -New in 2008: Art Benches, Wheelbarrow Gardens that add funding to local high school curriculums
- Each fall we host the Annual Art Teacher Exhibition and Sale to offer a showcase, awards and funding opportunities for Knox County Art Teachers
- Provide funding to Knox County Schools Art Department through Public Art Projects
- Promote the visual and performing arts.
- Art in Public Places Knoxville (AIPPK) is held for three months downtown to showcase large scale works of sculptural art. Started in 2007, this show will expand each year.
- In partnership with Knoxville Jazz Orchestra we host the annual Jazz Concert in April-includes a master class series for ongoing educational opportunities for high school and college students
- The Limited Edition Print brings great financial and promotional success for local artists
- Fine Art Show includes artworks and photography exhibition and retail opportunities
- Artisans' in Action-new at the 2008 DAF House & Garden Show showcase local artists and craftsmen who produce home and garden related items
- Improved quality of artists and craftsmen at Festival on Market Square
- Holding our annual Diva Luncheon at the Knoxville Museum of Art and featuring art by women artists showcases the museum collections and exhibitions to the public and offers sales opportunities for the participating artists
- 48 th Annual Parade will once again showcase many Knox County High School Marching Bands to be held Friday, April 11, 2008 at 7 PM. Day and time were changed to bring back the bands.
- To preserve and enhance the beauty of our region.
- Promoting and maintaining 70 miles of Dogwood Trails making them accessible to all
- Discussing a plan to plant 50,000 dogwood trees by 2010
- The DAF House & Garden Show is one of the south's premier shows attracting thousands to our city
