Basics #76

"Basics #76" is part of an ongoing work series of temporary public art installations realized throughout the US over the past 12 years. Each sculpture within this series is unique to its site, but all installations share a material language derived from the use of untreated 2x4 lumber, that is allowed to age over the course of the installation period. Beyond its formal expression, the work may ask: What does it mean to live in time? To participate in public space? And to be part of the most basic material culture that surrounds us?
