Public Art Initiatives
Art in Public Places. Knoxville is full of large-scale art that adds character and beauty to our city streets and public spaces. Find inspiration around every corner, down every alley, even on the sidewalk!

Thanks to supporters of our Art in Public Places program, sculptures and murals are concentrated in our city center and spread throughout the surrounding counties as part of everyday life. These works of art are here not only for the pleasure of art lovers, but also for community members and visitors who might not otherwise seek it out. Our public art serves as a clear indicator of Knoxville's thriving local culture.
SoKno Rail Trail & Art Walk
The Art Walk will be concentrated on the 1.5-mile segment of the SoKno Rail Trail from Kern’s Food Hall on Chapman Highway to Island Home Park neighborhood. Art installations (murals, sculptures, and collaborative projects) will evolve over time, ensuring the trail remains dynamic.
