A Vibrant New Tradition Bringing Art & Music to North Knoxville in 2026

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new event coming in 2026 — Knoxwalls Music & Mural Festival!
Saturday, May 30th, 2026
Emory Place (North Knoxville)
12–8PM
Get ready for a day bursting with color, creativity, and community as Dogwood Arts transforms Emory Place into an open-air art and music experience. Ten talented muralists will go head-to-head in a live painting competition, creating murals in real time while festival-goers watch the art unfold, enjoy performances by local & regional musicians, and explore the vibrant personalities of the businesses in and around Emory Place.
Once the murals are complete, the public will vote online to select the 1st and 2nd place winners, who will each receive permanent mural commissions at sites around Knoxville. The temporary 8’x8’ murals will then be auctioned online, with proceeds shared between the artists and Dogwood Arts’ Mural Program, fueling even more public art projects across the city.

What to Expect:
Art in Action: 10 muralists go head-to-head in a one-day painting competition
Live Music: Performances from local and regional artists
Hands-On Mural Experience: Interactive art for kids
Mural Wall Auction: Bid on completed murals
Public Vote: You decide which artists win permanent mural commissions around Knoxville!
If you love KnoxWalls at Emory Place, you’re going to love this next chapter. That project — created in partnership with Visit Knoxville and Lilienthal Gallery — transformed more than 7,000 square feet of walls and was the largest mural project in city history. We can’t wait to bring even more color and creativity to this growing arts district!
Keep an eye out for more information coming soon. And mark your calendars, because Artist Applications open Monday, November 10th at dogwoodarts.com/applications.
