BIKES & BLOOMS
Co-Chairs: Mitchell Connell & Erin Donovan
Discover new routes on these family friendly bike rides through scenic neighborhoods and on local greenways. Riders must wear helmets and have a basic understanding of on-road riding. Riders should wear comfortable clothing and bring any water or snacks you might need.
SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH | 5PM
Island Home Ride
118 S. Central Street, Knoxville, TN 37902
Explore scenic Colonial Village and the Island Home Dogwood Trail on this community bike ride! The ride will start at Two Bikes and end at Alliance Brewery (1130 Sevier Ave.) for beverages and food. This route will be around 15 miles and is best suited for intermediate to experienced cyclists who feel comfortable riding on roads and climbing hills. A helmet is required and riders are strongly encouraged to bring any snacks and water they need.


HIKES & BLOOMS
Whether on a greenway through a historic park or on a natural trail through the woods, you will observe historic relics and beautiful wildflowers among the dogwood trees at Hikes & Blooms! The interactive hikes will highlight interesting facts, features, and flora in the unique locations. Hikers should wear comfortable clothing and bring any water or snacks you might need.

Hastie Wildflower Hike with Missy Kane
We will meet at Mead's Quarry and hike through William Hastie Natural Area in South Knoxville with fitness advocate Missy Kane and a local wildflower expert to search for spring blooms and learn about the native wildflowers that grow in East Tennessee. Reservations required ($10).

Norris River Bluff Trail
Easy 3 mile hike; hiking poles recommended
The River Bluff Trail is one of the best spring wildflower hikes in the area. There are huge masses of trout lilies, purple phacelia, hepatica, spring beauties, several types of trillium, twinleaf, violets, celandine poppy, and many others blooming in mid-March.

WALKING TRIALS
OPEN YEAR-AROUND
Focusing on the idea of stepping out into our community, the trails are at least one-mile in length and folks are encouraged to walk, run, or bike these trails. Don’t forget to snap some pictures while you’re on the trail, and share them with us––we would love to feature them on social media. Just tag us in your posts (@dogwoodarts) or use #dogwoodtrails so we can see them!
