From Paint to Porcelain: Dogwood Regional Exhibition Showcases the Best in Contemporary Southern Art

From August 1-29th, Dogwood Arts invites you to experience a powerful display of regional creativity at the 17th Annual Dogwood Regional Exhibition, a juried showcase featuring work from 37 exceptional artists across the Southeast.


Opening August 1st at Dogwood Arts & RED Gallery in Downtown Knoxville, this year’s exhibition promises to be one of the most dynamic yet — featuring painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, textiles, and more.

Out of 445 submissions from 185 artists, juror Lindsay Rogers—Chief Programs Officer at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts—selected a compelling mix of media and voices that reflect the depth and diversity of contemporary Southern art.


Opening Night | First Friday, August 1st | 5-8PM

Celebrate the artists and be among the first to experience the work during the First Friday public reception. Admission is free and open to the public.

About the Juror: Lindsay Rogers is a potter, educator, and gardener living in Knoxville, TN. She received her BA with a concentration in printmaking from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in ceramics from the University of Florida. Over the years, Lindsay has used her work as a ceramic artist to advocate for a more locally based, sustainable food system. She has participated in collaborations with artists, chefs, and farmers. Her pottery, writing, and words can be found in a range of publications from books to blogs, magazines, and podcasts. She was an Associate Professor of Ceramics at East Tennessee State University before joining the team at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts as the Chief Programs Officer in 2025.
